I Have A Virus
I wish it were within my body but I’m not that lucky.
Seems my shitty laptop (if I had a Mac this wouldn’t be an issue) has contracted the “command.exe” virus. I’m glad that I’m familiar enough with my computer’s programs to have found it right away, but it’s still wreaking havok on my system while I try to get rid of it. Which is not easy.
Please send me good computer mojo in my time of virus-killing need. Thank you in advance.
Peace and crotch fleas to virus creators.

I am currently running a system scan with AGV. It has found the trojans but it remains to be seen if it can purge them from my system. Still scanning…
And yes, Natural, any comments with links get sucked into Akismet but I usually fish them out. Unfortunately, I’m on the CrackBerry right now so I can’t get to it. Thanks for the recommendation though… I’ll try it if AVG doesn’t work.

Virus makers are the scum underneath a camel’s balls! I hate the little bastards, and the tick they rode in on. Especially since I work as a mac/pc tech, and have to deal with the repercussions of their evil leprechaun pervertedness on a daily basis.

Yeah, Peace and crotch fleas to virus creators! I hate them too. They really should go do something more constructive like jump of a bridge or something. Hope you get your PC fixed soon.

Well, at least you can post from your Crackberry! I hope your PC is healthier by now! I use Norton Everything and also Webroot Spysweeper. And I keep my fingers crossed. No problems for a long long time, not since, gosh, one of the worms back in the late 1990s. Now that I’ve said that, I’m fucked, of course.

alright then, keep us posted. that’s the only program that worked for me when i had something that just would not come off. will keep fingers crossed.
don’t know why people attach viruses to your computer. you would think they’d be putting that talent to good rather than harm.
i’d shoot ‘em.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I hate viruses and their creators with a passion, too - almost as much as I hate spammers. Even with a spam filter I got 4,000 messages after my three week break, most of them spam. I need a new filter for sure, but I don’t know which to get. Meanwhile, I’m pretty much ignoring the PC mailbox and using the Mac and webmail.
I hope you get that sorted quickly!

You might want to try running msconfig (go to run & type msconfig) -then click on the start up programs & go through them one by one…you’ll be surprised what might be hiding in there - I usually just type in the file name in google to find out what it is and if i really need it or if it is indeed a virus.

Viruses suck ASS. I’m throwing all of my karma and mojo your way. I wish I could help, but YOU’RE the one *I* usually call when I’m having computer issues. I’m just not that savvy.
I hope the person who wrote your virus suffers a slow horrible bout of crotch rot.

Hey, Corrina. Sorry about your virus problem!
As you may or not know (since you’re a regular reader of mine), this is sort of my field. So, even *if* AVG solves your problem, you might want to try one or both of these online virus scans, too (just to be safe). They’re both free:
1) Trend Micro HouseCall
2) Panda ActiveScan
You will have to download some components for these to run, but both are legit. I’ve used them before. And, unless they’ve changed since I used them last, not only will they tell you if you still have any viruses, but they will clean/delete them for you as well.
Just a general FYI: It’s usually a good idea to scan with two different virus scanners when you suspect or know you have a virus. One anti-virus product might miss a virus that another will catch. So, if you have AVG (or Norton, McAffee, or some other anti-virus program that is always monitoring your computer) that’s great, but occasionally it doesn’t hurt to go to a site that offers a free online scan just to make certain AVG hasn’t missed something!
For the record, this is the most unfunny comment I have ever left someone.

This is a virus jungle ! the process starts from Virus Makers ! and Antivirus Makers cannot start the process (actually it ends here). So there is always a definite time lag between making a virus and curing it.
So this trouble will always be there. May it be Mac or Windows. No OS is bad. It is just our patience that matters, is what i feel.

So when are you joining the dark side? (I’m referring to macs of course). I have a compaq…always having trouble with that thing… Ever since I got a mac, all is good and well! (I still use my PC though)….
