I Love Calling Tech Support
So it’s Monday and I’m on the phone with AT&T tech support. Correction: I’m on hold waiting for AT&T tech support. Since my multimedia messaging isn’t working, this is what I have to do today. Joy.
I thought I’d give their online chat support a try but that was completely pointless. She just sent me a link to BlackBerry settings online. Lame.
Now I am on the phone with “Rhonda”, and although she is fabulously nice, she doesn’t seem to have a clue as to what she is dealing with here. Thankfully, Fashion is keeping me from pulling my hair out by Twittering with me while I sit here and hate AT&T.
I’ll update when I have a solution to this issue… Which should take about a week at this rate.
Peace and fuck shit fuck.
EDIT: The person I ended up with at AT&T wasn’t able to fix my problem. So I now have an open “case” and will be getting a call back on the 12th. Now I want that 2 hours of my life back. To see a play-by-play of my super fun experience, check out my Twitter feed.

LOL … oh yes, I hate alllllll those places. My phone company has out-sourced their customer service and tech support to India. Which would be fine if I lived in India, but I live in Canada. Talk about pulling out my hair. Can anyone say ’serious language barrier’.
Anyway, hang in there, hope it all works out.

what a freaking waste of time tech support is. they need tech support for their tech support.
i rather hang upside down by my toes off a cliff than call tech support. sometimes web support works well, but if you have to talk to a human, it’s painful.

Drowsey - When I call tech support for one of my computers, I almost ALWAYS get someone in another country, with an accent so severe I can’t understand them, and who always tells me their name is something bright white like Billy. I can also tell that they are reading scripts b/c when I interject with a technical question, or to tell them something technical that I’ve tried- I throw them completely off and they fluster.
Whenever they send me the “how was your experience?” email, I always write KEEP TECH SUPPORT IN THE U.S. in the comment box. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the Foamy cartoon that I posted a while back about Tech Support but it is DEAD on what we go through! LOL
Marvin - Ya know? I have been thinking of a career in something nerdy since my brian seems to be wired that way. I just don’t know how to get there, since I’ve been in the service industry for almost 20 years. Working in bars/restaurants is my comfy place. lol
When I was at the AT&T store buying my CrackBerry, the sales guy started talking to me about cell phones as if I’d never used one before. He quickly realized that I knew WAY more about them than he did. He said I should work at Radio Shack or something. LOL… The only thing is that most people trust men in that capacity more so than women. I must admit, my desire for a male tech suport person shamed me, but I’ve yet to get a woman who could help me.
Natural - I know! I lost 2 hours of my life so that “Rhonda” could be on her computer looking at the SAME EXACT troubleshooting pages that the online tech support person gave ME the link to. I’m not kidding… She was reading it off of her computer screen and I immediately recognized it because I’d already read it all myself! SO ridiculous.
