Mine All Mine!

Oh happy day! Today was the day I was supposed to get my new phone, but I couldn’t wait until today so I actually got it last night, after work. The transaction went very well and the guy was very nice. I got exactly what I wanted and so did he. High five. Oh and he didn’t try to kill me or molest me or anything- so that was nice.

So now, I present to you, fine blog readers… My new (and fabulous) phone: The Nokia N95.

Isn’t it beautiful? *sniff* I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. I love the texting, the multimedia messaging and the camera kicks ASS. It’s a 5 Megapixel digital camera with Carl Zeiss optics, flash and auto focus. It shoots video too. And since I have a 1GB memory card installed as well, I can make long movies and take hundreds of pictures. I think I might faint.

It does a million other cool things, but I want to keep this short so that I can continue playing with it. If you really wanna know, here are the technical specs.

I’m off to continue playing with my new toy.

Peace and cell phone addiction.

Natural - I just teared up a little bit when I read that you hate phones… I think I might faint again. lol

Leigh - Me too!! And thank you! I’ve drained my battery twice already just because I can’t stop playing with it! Ha ha!

I have the same phone and it’s a brilliant phone.. I love all the little apps you can get for it.. and even though I’ve had it since February I’m still discovering amazing things it can do!

My only complaint is the battery life :(

That looks like an awesome phone. Probably yet another one that we can’t get up here in Canada. No iPhone here yet, unless you get a bootleg unlocked phone from the guy at the street corner.

*Sniff* I’ve got such MAJOR cell phone envy right now. I’d love to get something like this and unload my “tank” of a phone (XV 6700). I’ve got zero funds and zero justification for getting a new phone. (Other than I really want one, which doesn’t work unless your, like, four years old.)

Maybe the guy Tim knows at the street corner can get me one . . .

  11. Corrina says:

Lady Banana - Yes, my only unhappiness with it is it’s battery life. Not the greatest. But a small price to pay for such fabulousness. :-)

Tim, I highly recommend buying phones unlocked (online). ALL of my phones (except the iPhone, which was a gift, and this one- which I traded) have been purchased online and unlocked.

Fashion Paramedic - I must disagree with the notion that one has to be 4 years old to use “I really want one” as a justification… That’s the only one I use! LOL However… I only have me and two little dogs to worry about. :-)

Some said Steve Jobs was shown an N95 and he said “wow! what a nice piece of hardware! who did you say manufactures this?” “Nokia! They sell 100 mobile phones for each 1 iPhone you sell!”

I got an E65, not as featured as the N95, but being able to use wi-fi and to call people via Fring when wi-fi is available is lovely!

Hi gtd - Nokia’s have come a LONG way in recent years. I’ve always been a fan of their reliability but was always disappointed that they were technologically behind other companies like Motorola, Sony Ericsson and LG. Once they finally started making Smartphones, however- I was all over them. The only phone they made that I didn’t like was the N76… In their rush to release it, they didn’t get the kinks out and it crashed a lot. Not to mention that the design was flawed in a couple different (kind of important for the money) ways.

I never had an E65, but I considered it. I LOVE that they have them in pink. I’m also a fan of slide phones.

I’m obsessed with (Nokia) cell phones, too. I’ve had my N91 for two years now but I don’t have any urge to replace it because I just got an N810 (http://nokia.us/A4626058) a few months ago. It’s awesome.

Here in Europe Nokia’s always been considered #1. Ericsson got back into the play when joining Sony. Nokia’s always been at least as innovative as Motorola. And yes, Symbian’s bought life to smartphones. At least as powerful as Windows Mobile, and doesn’t tie you to a given desktop operating system. For me, this is the match to watch carefully: Windows Mobile versus iPhone versus Symbian. With Android just coming!

  16. Corrina says:

Hi again gtd - I’m SO glad that Nokia finally came up with phone to Mac multimedia transfer software. I plan to be using a Mac within the next couple of years and losing the ability to transfer music and photos would really suck. I also like to create complete themes for the phones, and not being able to use that software would really suck too. Yay Symbian!

  17. Corrina says:

Hi Buikhu - I am SO glad to be back with Nokia. I’m curious what my next one will be (it’s a sickness, I tell you!), but for now I am super happy with my N95.

That N810 looks fun! Very nice design and I like the way the keypad slides out. That would be very nice for a text-o-holic like myself! LOL

  18. Buikhu says:

Just to clarify, the N810 is not a phone. That’s why I haven’t gotten rid of my N91.

It looks slick, I am so in need of a new phone. Mine is ancient. The specs on your Nokia look good.

Hi Woody… I LOVE my new phone. It’s very small and light too. I love all the features too… It’s so fun to play with. :-)

  24. nietzsche says:

Americans are used to Motorola, and recently to iPhone, and such models. Here in Europe Nokia’s always been a winner. The N95 is capable of doing more things than a laptop computer bought five years ago. I got an E65 a few months ago and it replaced my previous phone, my Palm pilot, and sometimes even the laptop…

The next war outside there is Symbian versus Windows Mobile versus Android.

  25. Corrina says:

Nietzche - Thanks for your comment… I, personally hate Motorola’s. They are the worst phones as far as stability. Nokia’s are my absolute favorite. I have heard that they are much bigger in Europe. I’m considering a Blackberry, just to check out Windows Mobile and see if I like the way it performs. I’m sure I’ll end up with another Nokia though.
